Belize Barrier Reef Diving

Fall in love with the beauty and mystery of the ocean by visiting Belize Dive Haven. Belize is home to the world’s largest living reef and it offers scuba dive locations that are suited for a wide range of skill levels, whether you’re interested in a shallow dip or a challenging exploration in the Great Blue Hole‘s over 400 feet deep large submarine sinkhole that has attracted expert divers from around the world.

Belize’s warm welcoming waters make scuba diving a comfortable experience and you’ll be amazed by the crystal-clear views even when you’re 50 to 200 feet deep.

Belize also offers a range of diving site locations. If you’re interested in wreck diving, you’ll want to visit the Sayonara Wreck and Amigo’s Wreck. If you’re interested in seeing coral gardens, you’ll enjoy the Caye Caulker, Ambergris Caye and Glover’s Reef Atoll. If caves and tunnels are what you’re looking for, stop by the Majestic Point, Cypress Tunnels and the Crack at Glover’s Reef. Looking to dive at night? There’s the Placencia and Hol Chen Marine Reserve just for you. And if you’re a deep diver extraordinaire, then the Great Blue Hole is where you’ll be headed. Plus, you can also do it all (depending on your skill level, of course).

Very few people have explored Belize’s 300-kilometre reef and with the vast scuba dive sites it offers, you could visit a new location every day. Scuba diving is a great group adventure, but appreciate Mother Nature at its finest in an undisturbed adventure where the excitement of exploring a world you’ve never seen before is matched with the quiet and calm you experience underwater. It’s the perfect getaway and it serves as the antidote you need to refuel before heading back to the real world.

What You Need

Preparation is key to enjoying your Belize scuba dive vacation. While you don’t need to be physically fit to scuba dive, you might want to stop by the gym before heading out on your trip. You can get quite a workout, but don’t worry, you won’t notice since you’ll be distracted by all the beauty underwater.

It’s important to have good equipment when you scuba dive and based on where you drive, it differs based on the area’s climate. In Belize, you’ll need tropical scuba equipment, which includes a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy control device (BCD), weight system, scuba regulator, submersible pressure gauge (SPG), dive knife, dive watch, dive computer, dive light, bodysuit, dive flag and float, signaling devices, scuba tank and rebreathers, just to name a few. Of course, don’t forget your underwater camera or video camera to show off the amazing sights and adventures you experienced in Belize.

If you’re an avid diver, you likely have your own equipment, but Belize Dive Haven also accommodates divers of any skill level and gear will be supplied to you, if needed.

Whether you’re a first-timer or diving pro, there will be PADI dive training available to help you earn your diving certification and continuing education courses to make you feel at ease before entering the water. Before heading out on a tour, notify the operator that you’re a beginner and they’ll be able to help.
