International Travel to Belize
It depends where you are coming from, but if you’re flying internationally, you’ll arrive in Belize at the Philip Goldson International Airport in Ladyville, nearby Belize City. Many major airlines offer flights to Belize, but if you’re departing from Canada you’ll need to switch to a connecting flight. The only North American cities that offer a direct flight when you travel to Belize are Houston, Miami, Dallas, Charlotte and Atlanta, according to Lonely Planet.
From the airport, Belize Dive Haven’s friendly staff will whisk you away to the private island on a one-and-a-half-hour boat ride that gives you your first glimpse at the crystalline waters you’ll be diving in.
Entering the Country
Make sure you check your passport’s expiry date before booking your trip since it needs to be valid for three months after your arrival date. You’ll also need a return ticket and proof of enough money to cover your stay.
Need a quick diving getaway? You won’t need a visa if you’re a citizen of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Caribbean and Central American Countries, which makes the entry process much easier compared to visiting Australia. You’ll be allowed to stay in Belize in 30 days and if you hope to stay longer, you’ll need to apply for an extension.
Once you arrive in Belize, make sure all your paperwork is in order and prepare yourself for a scuba diving adventure like you’ve never seen before.
Getting to the Resort
Once you arrive in Belize our resort representative will be there to meet you and guide you to our boat for your short ride to the resort. All transfers to and from the island are included in your holiday package.
Guests can also travel to our resort on a chartered plane from the Belize City airport! We have our very own 2,000 foot runway where planes can land to drop off our guests! There are two airlines that offer this service – Tropic Air and Maya Airlines – both of which can be booked in advance of arriving in Belize! Please note, unlike our complimentary boat transportation, the chartered flight fees are not included in your resort booking!
