Belize Scuba Vacation Tips

Belize is a scuba divers paradise, and people from all over the world visit the country to experience the tropical sights and underwater beauty. When the time comes for you to cross your scuba diving vacation in Belize off of your bucket list, you’ll want to follow these tips to ensure you get the most out of your stay.

Pick Your Location

There are so many amazing scuba diving sites located in the waters surrounding Belize, so one of the most important tips we can give you is to do your research and pick the right place to stay and play. Belize Dive Haven is surrounded by some of the most sought-after dive locations in the world, like The Great Blue Hole, and the waters are warm year-round, which means there is never a bad time to visit. The various dive sites near our resort are also home to some unique marine life like whale sharks, manatees, and sea turtles.

Choose a Package

Although it would be foolish not to take advantage of the incredible scuba diving sites in Belize if you vacation there, everyone wants a different balance of activity and relaxation, so another one of our tips is to research the packages available. At Belize Dive Haven, we have vacation packages to accommodate every scuba skill level and vacation mentality.

Select a Time

While there is no bad time to visit Belize Dive Haven, the time of year you choose will determine what kind of marine life you see. That’s why one of the tips we always give our guests before they book their scuba vacation to Belize is to do a bit of research. For example, March through June is the ideal time to visit if you want to see whale sharks, but if you’re interested in seeing manatees, April is the best time to visit.

Get Your Gear Ready

Once you have booked your scuba diving vacation to Belize using the above tips, get to work on prepping your dive equipment for your trip, rather than waiting until the last minute. You’re more than welcome to rent dive gear from us as well, but if you’re bringing your own, get your regulators serviced and ensure all your gear is in good condition.

Insurance

In a perfect world, every vacation you plan would go off without a hitch, but sometimes inclement weather or family emergencies can derail your dream vacation. Purchasing travel insurance guarantees that you won’t be left hanging should you need to cancel or reschedule your trip. We also recommend that all of our guests acquire health and/or dive insurance for their trip, so that they are covered in the event of an emergency.
