How to Dive the Great Blue Hole

If you are a diver and heading to Belize, you’re likely looking to book a trip to the Great Blue Hole. Made famous by Jaques Cousteau, this location is a bucket-list item for many divers; however, it can be a bit difficult to access.

How to Get to the Great Blue Hole

Transportation to the site can be challenging. The dive site is not close to the mainland so you will need to arrange travel. Be warned that it can be a long boat ride from mainland Belize, about 2-3 hours. In addition to paying for a boat, you’ll also need to pay a park fee to access the Blue Hole.

Note: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification required for this dive. This is a highly technical dive and not recommended for novice divers.
